Venice Free Tour

The tour meets in front of the entrance to the Gallerie dell'Accademia, in the middle of the Dorsoduro neighbourhood. Let's start our free tour!

During the tour, we'll delve into the history of this beautiful city, which is known by many as the Queen of the Adriatic. We'll stroll through the streets, admire its canals, and look up at the façades of its most symbolic buildings. We'll start which the Teatro de La Fenice, which is one of the most important 'temples of opera' in the world.

Our next stop will be St Mark's Square. Here, we'll pay close attention to the architectural details on St Mark's Basilica, which dates back to the 12th century. We'll see the bell tower, which is 323 feet high (almost 100 metres), and discuss the different uses of the Doge's Palace, as well as Venice's doges.

We will continue our guided tour of Venice by walking around the exterior of the Contarini del Bovolo Palace. This stunning building is an unrivalled example of Venetian Gothic architecture, as well as being one of the most fascinating constructions in this Italian city. We'll also stroll along Venice's Grand Canal and admire the palaces and churches that line its banks, including the majestic baroque Basilica of Santa María della Salute.

After 2 hours of walking, we'll finish our tour and say our goodbyes in St Mark's Square.
