Venice Islands Private Day Trip

At the scheduled time, we'll meet you at your hotel in Venice. From here, we'll walk to the pier where the water taxi will be waiting to take us to Murano, one of the most famous islands in the Venetian Lagoon. 

As you may well already know, Murano is renowned for its glass production. Since the 10th century, the island's craftworkers have made incredibly refined pieces of glass. Their precious chandeliers, glasses, vases and numerous other glass objects have given Murano the international fame it enjoys today.

On this private tour, an exclusive guide will accompany you on a journey through the ancient techniques used by the experts of glass production. You'll visit a glass factory and watch a demonstration of how these beautiful works of art are made.

Next, you'll stroll around Murano while your guide discusses its history. You'll see some of its most symbolic sights, such as the Church of San Donato, which is a masterpiece of Venetian architecture. 

After the tour of Murano, we'll hop back on the water taxi to return to Venice and finish the tour at the departure point 3 hours after setting off.

Murano, Burano and Torcello Day Trip

If you'd like to extend the experience a little, you can add the Venetian islands of Burano and Torcello to the tour. After visiting Murano, we'll head to Burano, the island of fishermen. Like many who visit, you'll find yourself enchanted by its colourful houses and its picturesque bell tower. We'll walk through the streets and along Burano's quay as we pass by the lace workshops, or merletti, that are typical of this island.

Next we'll head to Torcello, which is located in the centre of the Venetian Lagoon. Here, we'll see the historic Church of Santa Maria Assunta and its beautiful mosaics, as well as the Byzantine Church of Santa Fosca.

Having spent 8 hours exploring Venice's islands, we'll return to the starting point in the city and finish our tour.

Transport

The day trip to Murano includes a water taxi service. However, if you've booked the combo option of Murano, Burano and Torcello, transport isn't included. We recommend getting a transport card for Venice and its islands.

Pick up

This day trip includes pick up from hotels in San Marcos and Rialto. If your hotel is located somewhere else, you'll need to head to the meeting point located in Campo San Gallo.
